Discover The POWER of HABIT

The will to win is worthless if you do not have the will to prepare.  ~Thane Yost

How do you prepare to win?  If you are an athlete, you prepare to win with lots of disciplined training and practice.  Athletes prepare both physically and mentally with healthy habits. They take good care of their bodies with proper nutrition and exercise.  And they condition their minds with a winning attitude.  They see themselves accomplishing their goals.  When they fall, they don’t stay down.  They get back up and persist with determination and faith.

How do you prepare to live a winning life?  To answer that question, we can look at the successful athletes who prepare to win by developing and maintaining healthy habits.  Winning in life is about having happy and successful relationships, fulfillment and purpose in serving, true joy with gratitude, mental and physical well-being, and a positive, hopeful attitude and perspective.Winning in life does not just happen.  We must do our part because the
power of habit is a life principle.  With practice, we can discipline and train ourselves to think and act like a winner in all areas of our life.  Following are some helpful tips:

PRACTICE TIP #1:  Practice healthy habits no matter how you are feeling.  It does not matter if you are motivated, excited, tired, bored, anxious or sad.  Just do it!!

PRACTICE TIP #2:  Practice power habits without excessive force or struggle.  Start where you can. Take small steps and build from there. Do not negatively judge your efforts.  Acknowledge and appreciate your progress.

PRACTICE TIP #3:  Dedicate time to practice your power habits.  Depending on the habit, you might want to schedule a specific time in your day and/or you may practice as you are moving along your day.  Habits can be practiced and reinforced in our minds as we are driving, waiting, etc.

PRACTICE TIP #4: Practice healthy habits without requiring immediate change or expecting something special to happen.  Remember that most change occurs gradually and builds.  It is a process. Before you know it, you will achieve your goals!
