**Breaking Out of Your Comfort Zone

Learn  how to handle rejection, work hard, and function outside of your comfort zone.  Success will be yours. ~ Gonzo Arzuaga

Remember this simple, life-empowering truth: It is not necessary to get rid of fear to succeed.

Fear of rejection cannot keep you from achieving your goals if you will persist.  Fear of failure cannot keep you from succeeding in life if you will learn from your mistakes and try again.

The more comfortable you have to be, the fewer chances and opportunities you will take,  Staying comfortable keeps you from growing and robs you of true happiness.

Functioning outside of your comfort zone may not be easy.  Everything is uncomfortable at first. Eventually, as you move through the discomfort, you will succeed.  Your comfort zone will expand and you will grow to become a "bigger" person.

Is there an area in your life in which you are holding yourself back by staying comfortable?  Decide today to take one step outside of your comfort zone. Before you know it, you will discover a life better than you ever imagined!

Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new. ~Brian Tracy

One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again. ~Abraham Maslow

Anything you to do to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone will ultimately enable you to take larger risks and grow. ~ Leslie Evans

Comfort zones are plush lined coffins. When you stay in your plush lined coffins, you die. ~ Stan Dale

Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions, and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills! ~ T. Harv Eker

I Will Do More

I will do more than belong, I will participate.
I will do more than care, I will help.
I will do more than believe, I will practice
I will do more than forgive, I will forget.
I will do more than teach, I will inspire.
I will do more than dream, I will work.
I will do more than give, I will serve.
I will do more than earn, I will enrich.
I will do more than live, I will grow.
I will do more than be fair, I will be kind.
I will do more than be a citizen, I will be a patriot.
I will do more than be friendly, I will be a friend.

~ William Arthur Werd

These beautiful words of wisdom and inspiration encourage us to be do our best and be our best.  Every line gives us something to think about and apply to our lives.

I will do more than belong, I will participate.
We all belong to a family, a team at work, school or play, a group of friends, an organization or club, etc.  We participate when we get involved and share of ourselves - our ideas, time and energy.  We can do more by being active participants in every area of our lives!

I will do more than care, I will help.
It is one thing to say we care, but it is quite another to actually do something about it.

I will do more than believe, I will practice.
Again, we can put our faith into action. We can do more if we are willing!

I will do more than forgive, I will forget.
We may not "forget" in the literal sense of the term, and that is not what I believe is intended here.  Rather, we can "forget" in the sense of "letting go, releasing."

I will do more than teach, I will inspire.
This brings to mind another awesome quote by William Arthur Werd that says it all: "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."

I will do more than dream, I will work.
Dreams are just the beginning.  If we want to see them manifested in reality, we must do our part and work which incudes planning, setting goals and believing!

I will do more than give, I will serve.
Giving and serving go together, especially when we give with a cheerful heart.

I will do more than earn, I will enrich.
Earn is defined as: to receive as return for effort and especially for work done or services rendered (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).  We earn money for work done, but when our work enriches others, we also gain much more than money. Our reward is priceless.

I will do more than live, I will grow.
If we keep growing mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and if we keep learning, we will live fully and not merely exist.

I will do more than be fair, I will be kind.
This quote comes to mind: "In life you  can never be too kind or too fair; everyone you meet is carrying a heavy load. When you go through your day expressing kindness and courtesy to all you meet, you leave behind a feeling of warmth and good cheer, and you help alleviate the burdens everyone is struggling with. ~Brian Tracy   Beautifully said!

I will do more than be a citizen, I will be a patriot.
Anyone can become a citizen of a country, but that does not mean that they love and support their country and are willing to support it. That is a patriot!

I will do more than be friendly, I will be a friend.
We can be friendly without liking someone, but we cannot be a good friend to someone we do not like. What does being a friend mean to you?

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful poem by William Arthur Werd as much as I have. May you let it speak to your heart, and may you be blessed!  Krystal

The Power of Choice

Use Wisely Your Power of Choice

Choose to love rather than hate...

The Good Life for Each New Day

The happiest people....

are rarely the richest, the most beautiful, or even the most talented.

Happy people do not depend on excitement and "fun" supplied by externals.

They enjoy the simple things in life.

They waste no time thinking other pastures are greener; they do not yearn for yesterday or tomorrow.

They savor the moment, glad to be alive, enjoying their work, their families, the good things around them.

They are adaptable; they can bend with the wind, adjust to the changes in their times, employ the contests of life, and feel themselves in harmony with the world.

Their eyes are turned outward, they are aware, compassionate..  They have the capacity to love.

**Love That Never Fails

Think about what love means to you...

If you were asked what love is, what would you say?

Love is sometimes easiest to define in the context of relationships.

Following is the most well-known and timeless definition of unconditional love (with some descriptions and thoughts in italics).

Imagine your life with love that is unconditional, genuine, and free....

~ Love is patient (with imperfect people, enduring, uncomplaining, tolerant)

~ Love is kind (active in doing good, generous, warm-hearted)

~ Love does not envy (wants others to get ahead, not insecure, overly possessive or competitive)

~ Love does not parade itself (showing off, bragging)

~ Love is not puffed up (inflated with pride, treating others arrogantly)

~ Love does not behave rudely (displays good manners, courtesy and respect)

~ Love does not seek its own (unselfish; does not demand precedence or its own way, thinks of others)

~ Love is not provoked (easily angered, irritable or touchy, rough or hostile, but is self-controlled and graceful under pressure)

~Love thinks no evil (does not keep an account of wrongs done; releases resentments and grudges)

~ Love does not delight in injustice and unrighteous (finding
satisfaction in others’ shortcomings or spreading a bad report)

~ Love rejoices in the truth (celebrates the good, rejoices when right and truth prevail)

~ Love never gives up (defends, protects and holds other people up)

~ Love never loses faith (believes the best about others; credits them with good intention)

~ Love is always hopeful (never giving up on people, but affirming their future)

~ Love endures through every circumstance (persevering and remaining loyal to the end)

LOVE NEVER FAILS (does not fade, become obsolete or end) !!!

It's a New Day for a New Beginning!!

Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new end. ~Carl Bard

You've heard it said, It's not how you start, it's how you finish.  Sometimes we wish we could go back and do things all over again.  It would be so different if we could just have a brand new start.  But no matter how far off track we have gotten, or where the road has turned, we can still reach our destination.  The life before us is filled with hope and promise.  No detour can change our purpose and calling.  We just might have to take a different way to get there than we expected.  Yet, we will fulfill our dreams and purpose as long as we are willing to pick ourselves back up and start from where we are right now.

It's a new day for a new beginning!

Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way.  Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be. ~Marsha Petrie Sue

The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings. ~Dave Weinbaum

The Helping Families Cope Program p
rovides participating low-income families with 5 to 10 paid sessions of counseling to help them cope, and give them hope and healing.  Because of the generous support of caring people, this program is able to help so many people in the Metro Detroit Area.

Following are Testimonials from Clients of the Helping Families Cope Program

(used with permission):
“My name is Telethia and I would just like to say that going to the Helping Families Cope Program helped me tremendously. I am glad that I was able to find a program that made it possible for a single parent such as myself to get the help that I needed to overcome some obstacles I was facing in my life. Not only did this program help me but it helped my son as well. The staff there are wonderful people!! I hope this program will continue to be around to help more people such as myself.”  T.H.

I always knew I needed to get help, just could never afford it. With this program, I got the help to feel better and be healthier.” L.R.

“I’m so thankful for the Helping Families Cope Program.  It has helped me start living my life again and go back to who I used to be before my anxiety attacks.  Our therapy sessions have helped me cope with bad situations. This was a huge blessing that came to me. This program is needed to help a lot of people. I highly recommend it!” S.M.

“My husband and I came to New Day desperate for guidance and support as our marriage seemed to be falling apart at the seams. We scraped together the full cost of an hour appointment (we didn't have insurance) because we knew how important it was. We figured on going to see our therapist once a month or as often as we could afford it. At the first session, she told us about the Helping Families Cope Program that would significantly cut the cost of our sessions. Through this program, we were able to attend weekly sessions instead of monthly as we originally thought. With the help of this program, our therapist helped save our marriage and our family. We are now a happy family of 4, and we thank God for our therapist, New Day, and the Helping Families Cope Program. I really don't know where we'd be without them!” M.C.

“I want to thank New Day Counseling, especially our therapist, for their hard work and dedication to me and my son at a minimal fee. Thru financial hard times I was concerned I could not pay for sessions and had many issues that I needed addressed NOW so I could sleep peacefully at night. I am so thankful they provided us a discount and that I didn't have to wait to get a job to pay. I was laid off.  It shows me they really care about people (my son and I) and will be there for us no matter what. Thank you. You have helped me thru some of my most difficult times of my life and I won’t hesitate to make another appointment or send a referral your way.” K.S.
